Service 01 / Installation

Gallery installation services.

A controlled process for turning approved exhibition plans into aligned, inspectable gallery rooms.

Installation tools and artwork positioning marks on a gallery wall

Position first. Fix once.

Installation begins with the room, the artwork format and the approved display intent. We confirm access, wall condition, working height, clearances and installation sequence before positioning begins.

Wall-mounted works require different decisions from freestanding or sculptural works. Frame depth, weight, hanging hardware, surface construction and neighbouring works all affect the appropriate procedure. No mounting method is treated as universally suitable.

Scope of work

  • Review installation drawings, schedules and reference dimensions.
  • Confirm wall locations, surface readiness and access conditions.
  • Establish centre lines, heights, spacing and visual relationships.
  • Coordinate approved hanging systems with the relevant team.
  • Install in a room-by-room or sequence-based order.
  • Complete alignment, label and final visual checks.

Practical considerations

Measurements are recorded against stable references rather than informal visual estimates. For groups of works, spacing is considered as a system. For single works, the relationship between work, wall and visitor route is reviewed independently.

Preparation can include protecting adjacent surfaces, clearing the installation area and confirming that tools and access equipment are appropriate to the room. Any uncertainty about a surface, fixing or artwork condition is escalated before work continues.

Good for

Gallery rooms, temporary exhibitions, wall-mounted displays, installation days, room-by-room fit-outs and final presentation checks. The service can be combined with handling preparation, display setup or a documented planning package.

What to know

Final positioning depends on approved dimensions, available access and the condition of the installation surface. Changes to the plan during installation should be recorded and agreed by the responsible contact. Installation is coordinated professionally, but material suitability and structural decisions remain subject to the relevant specialist or site authority.
